In 1857, German clock-maker Matthias Hohner built his first harmonica. He sent several to relatives who’d emigrated to the United States, and by the time of the American Civil War, Hohner’s harmonicas had found a large market in the United States, bringing comfort to troops during war-torn years. Heroes and villains alike played the harmonica – from President Abraham Lincoln (who reportedly carried one in his pocket) to outlaws like Billy the Kid. Over the decades, the harmonica has become ingrained in the musical landscape of the United States. Like the Airstream travel trailer, the Hohner harmonica is a classic of quality craftsmanship and simple, functional design.
We’ve teamed up with Hohner on these special harmonicas engraved with the Airstream logo. They’re perfect for livening up a night by the campfire.
