Designed and handcrafted in Tennessee from locally-sourced white oak, this chair features stainless steel and aluminum hardware for strength, and a double-dipped satin polyurethane finish to stand up to life outdoors.

Made in the USA and built with durable 1000-denier coated nylon, the seat fabric is precision-cut with heat to prevent fraying. The Kermit Chair easily disassembles and packs into its own included carrying bag —making it a perfect fit for the limited storage spaces in your Airstream. Or simply fold it up and carry it like a standard camp chair.

The Wide Kermit Chair offers the same exceptional craftsmanship as the Original—now with an extra 2" of width for added comfort, measuring 21" from arm to arm. Designed with Airstreamers in mind, it's the perfect blend of durability, portability, and premium comfort for life on the road.

Standard or Taller Seat Heights

For added upper back support, the Kermit Chair is also available in a taller version. The seat height remains the same, but the taller model adds 3" to the seat height, for a total seat height of 15". Perfect for those who prefer a little more support while relaxing at the campsite.

About The Kermit Chair Company

None of the chairs on the market satisfied him, so he took matters into his own hands and built a chair himself. Kermit’s friends noticed his chair during camping trips and BMW rallies, and before he knew it, the Kermit Chair was born. Word spread from there, and the Kermit Chair quickly became the premier camping chair for BMW motorcycle riders.

Kermit eventually decided to retire, and in 2003 he passed the company on to longtime Kermit Chair enthusiast and fellow BMW motorcycle rider, Tom Sherrill. Tom sought to carry on the legacy of the original Kermit Chair and, with the help of some highly skilled friends, was able to establish a new production facility outside of his hometown of Nashville, TN. 

Tom and his family still manufacture the Kermit Chair to the original specifications and high quality standards that Kermit established 40 years ago. Kermit Chair Company takes great pride in our efforts to provide the finest quality and highest comfort possible in any portable camping chair on the market today. 

They now have three family-run facilities in the Nashville area that continue to uphold the Kermit name and provide this timeless design to an ever-growing scene of camping enthusiasts and design-savvy backyard hobbyists alike.
